Aus Native Engineered Blackbutt Flooring

Engineered Blackbutt gives you the pale honey to golden nutty brown of Australia’s most-specified hardwood, on a core built to sit still. A real Australian hardwood wear layer over a low-shrinkage Hevea core, straight-grained, with the pinholes and dark gum veins that mark it as the genuine article.

Three variations share the species: Native in a smooth Bona lacquer, Oiled in a brushed Osmo hardwax, and Optimise on a slimmer lamella at a sharper price. All prefinished, all ready to walk on the day they go down.

Need assistance?

Let us know any questions or what documents you require and we’ll get back to you.

Your Questions. Answered.

The questions we hear most often at the showroom. Don’t see yours? Call (08) 9204 2611 or come visit us at 12 Burgay Court, Osborne Park.

Is Blackbutt flooring suitable for kitchens and high-traffic areas?

Yes. Blackbutt rates 9.1 kN on the Janka hardness scale, which is the number to look at for dents and traffic. It runs about 900kg/m³ dry density. No timber floor is dent-proof, but this one takes a busy kitchen. What matters more is that it can be re-coated when the finish is due, rather than replaced.

Do you install the flooring?

We don’t, and that’s deliberate. We supply the floor and match you with an installer through our Trade-Match service, chosen for your suburb, your subfloor and the format you’ve picked. You deal with the installer directly, and we stay involved on the product side for the life of the floor.

What grades of Blackbutt do you stock?

This range runs in a single Standard (Rustic available separately) grade, selected for consistency rather than character – the board you see in the showroom is the board that arrives on site. If you want more visible feature, gum vein and colour movement, ask us about the solid Blackbutt range, which comes in Select, Standard and Feature grades.

Can Blackbutt be laid over underfloor heating?

Talk to us before you specify it. Whether a floor suits a heated slab depends on the board thickness, the format and the system itself, and the answer differs by supplier. We’ll check the manufacturer’s position for your build rather than give you a general rule that might not hold.

How long does supply and installation take?

The boards arrive prefinished, so once they’re down the floor is done – no sanding, no coating, no two weeks of closed rooms and fumes. Stock is picked up or delivered from our Osborne Park warehouse; your installer sets the laying time from there.
